THERE was mud, mud and even more glorious mud as Manningtree Regatta staged its wacky races on Sunday.
A morning of sludge sports was sandwiched between two days of boat racing on the River Stour.
Large crowds watched as runners of all ages raced down the shoreline and waded into the thick black goo.
The tug-of-war competition turned into a slime-fest – especially when the rope snapped in the children’s versus adults contest, sending teams sprawling in the mudbath.
