A HISTORIC lightship will take to the radio waves again for a special nine-day broadcast this summer.
The LV18, the last manned lightship, will transform into a pirate radio hub for the second time at its Harwich Quay home.
Last year, it celebrated the 50th anniversary of Radio Caroline with a special four-day broadcast.
Now, from July 25, Radio Mi Amigo will be riding the FM airwaves in homage to the pirate radio ships that docked off the coast of Harwich.
Radio Mi Amigo will also be broadcasting live from this year’s Harwich Sea Festival on July 26.
Tony O’Neil, curator of the LV18, said: “It is the second time we have done a radio broadcast in the LV18’s new home. This is a much bigger event than we did last year.”
