A YOUNG sailor has graduated as a warfare specialist from a top naval training facility.
Ella Knight, 20, of Harwich, has finished her Phase Two training with the Royal Navy at HMS Collingwood in Hampshire, which provides information to ships on air and surface activities.
She will be part of the team detecting threats to the ship, identifying targets and making crucial tactical decisions using state-of-the art-electronic systems.
Miss Knight lives in Harwich with her parents Helen and Paul and has been in the Navy since November. She said: “I have loved every second of my career so far and look forward to progressing over the course of a long and hopefully successful career in the service. I now look forward to learning all about the specialisation of my trade.”
Whilst on the course, Ella has taken part in Operation Nile and Operation Trafalgar – a humanitarian disaster relief exercise – and is now specialising in electronic warfare.
