HARWICH and Dovercourt Golf Club have booked their place in the Jubilee Cup quarter-finals.
They finished top of their group, after Tony Dumper’s side secured a 6½-2½ victory at Regiment Way.
Meanwhile, Harwich had an excellent win in the last 16 of the county seniors’ team competition, beating Benton Hall 8-3.
It was a great team performance, with emphatic wins for Maurie Tyrrell (seven and six) and Phil Davies (four and three).
They now visit Rayleigh in the quarter-finals.
The annual Nigel White Memorial Texas scramble took place on Saturday.
A star-studded field, including international Essex cricketers like Ryan ten Doescate and Tom Westley, joined in and the eventual winners were Jordan Slater, Tony Challis, Nigel Carpenter and Stuart Reece.
Harwich’s veterans beat Purdis Heath 5-3.
