SUZANNE Warren smashed records in her final gala before this year’s European Masters Games.

The Holland-on-Sea disability swimmer set two British records and two regional ones at the Midsummer Madness event, in Norwich.

All came in her new S4 category, having been reclassified from S5 following last month’s East Region Disability Championships.

Her British bests came in the 200 metres freestyle as she set a seven-second personal best (PB) in six minutes and 22.12 seconds – shattering a record that had stood since 2006.

The former primary school teacher also set a new best in the 50m butterfly, clocking 1m 5.30s.

The two regional records came in the 50m freestyle – managing 1m 5.88s, beating the previous best of 1m 25.65s set in 2009.

And Warren, who hopes to compete in next year’s Paralympic Games, in Rio, was also in record-breaking form in the 50m backstroke.

She managed 1m 6.75s – easily eclipsing the previous best of 1m 27.26s and only a second shy of the current British best.

“It was my last race of the season, so nice to have a few more records to celebrate,” said Warren, who will compete at the European Masters Games in Nice in early October.
