THE incrediable story of a young corporal who served in the Second World War, told in his own words, has been published by his daughter.
Ernest Reynolds, known as Ben, was born and brought up in Mistley before being called to fight in the Second World War, aged just 19.
During the war he was captured in Africa, was held in two prisoner of war camps and escaped by trekking across Italy.
After the war Ben penned his story on the advice of his doctor, in a bid to “get it off his chest”.
Eleven years after his death his daughter Gina Reynolds, who now lives in Sydney, Australia, decided to share his story in the book Call Me Corp.
The book is available to buy online in the UK, America and Australia.
