GHOST-HUNTERS are convinced a Napoleonic keep is home to spiritual activity after spending a night within its walls.

Paranormal Investigation Team GCUK SouthEast stayed at the Harwich Redoubt Fort last weekend and believe they have firm evidence of ghoulish goings-on.

The team were joined by 15 guests and believe they heard footsteps in the cells and an apparition whistling along to legendary tune We’ll Meet Again by Dame Vera Lynn.

Manager Rachael Darby also believes the spirit of aworkman who had helped build the fort was contacting the team and asking for water by wobbling dowsing rods a team member was holding.

She said: “The whole night was fantastic and we still have lots of footage to go through.

“One of our team was holding the rods so tightly his knuckles were going white, but they were still wobbling when we asked direct questions.

“It was very exciting and I am convinced there is paranormal activity taking place at the Redoubt Fort.”

Following the success of the night, the team have booked to return on November 21. For information and tickets, call 07434 412787 or e-mail gcuk southeast@hotmail.com
