TRIBUTES have been paid to a former parish councillor who dedicated her life to helping others.

Aggie Forrester, of Rigby Avenue, Mistley, died aged 91 in the early hours of last Thursday after suffering from an infection which spread to her blood.

Mrs Forrester served on Mistley Parish Council for 27 years before resigning from her position in 2011.

She first moved to the village in 1966 and son Brian, who was her only remaining family after her husband Sam died in 2005, said she would be greatly missed.

“She was always helping people and was just a brilliant woman,” he said.

“My mum was very passionate about the area and this always felt like it was her home.

“She was my best buddy, my best mum, and the best person you could ever want to be around.

“My mum would have given her last penny to someone if she thought somebody needed it more than her. I am so proud of her.”
