BUS routes in Essex will be cut.

Essex County Council is looking to reduce 45, change 38 routes and remove 30.

A consultation has been launched before the changes are made to give the public a chance to have a say.

The changes would come in from April.

Rodney Bass, cabinet member for highways and transportation, said: “Services are only proposed to be withdrawn where there are alternatives in place or they are low use.

“We remain committed to providing the best possible bus network, maximising services and making them as cost-effective as possible.”

The Getting Around in Essex consultation with full details of all council run services is available at www.essex.gov.uk/busreview.

The consultation will close on Wednesday, October 21.
