FC CLACTON manager David Coyle was awash with superlatives after seeing his side blow away Felixstowe and Walton in the Thurlow Nunn League Challenge Cup.

Skipper Aaron Condon (two), Charlie Thompson and Ben Parkin were on target in Tuesday’s first-round tie at Dellwood Avenue.

It was a fourth straight win for the impressive Seasiders.

And afterwards Coyle described his side’s emphatic, eye-catching win as his best as Clacton manager.

“It was amazing,” he said.

“We were brilliant – absolutely outstanding – and totally deserved our victory. I’d say it was my best-ever result as Clacton manager.

“The boys were unbelievable.

“There were no weak links and it was pretty close to a perfect display.

“For a lot of our players, it’ll be the best result they’ll ever have and in terms of setting the standard, the bar has been thrown high in the air.”

Coyle handed starts to goalkeeper Luke Avenell, Parris Newland and the “outstanding” Jordan Brazitis.

“I made a few changes and gave some of the boys an opportunity, which they took with both hands,” said the Seasiders boss. “They looked like they had a point to prove.

“Kevin Coyle also deserves huge praise because he filled in at centre-half and was unbelievable.

“It shows that we can beat anyone and I don’t think any other team will put four past Felixstowe.

“Equally, I doubt any other team in the top six will drop points against Thetford (Clacton lost 4-2 there on September 26).

“That’s the flip side, but, right now, I can’t speak highly enough of my players.

“It would be a bit much to describe it as a one-off, but I doubt very much we’ll play better in our next 30 games.”
