HOLLAND FC got off to a winning start in their first match at FC Clacton’s Rush Green Bowl.

The Essex and Suffolk Border League premier division high-fliers beat Earls Colne 4-1, on Saturday.

Holland are ground-sharing with Clacton this season due to building work at their Eastcliff base.

This was their first game at the Bowl and man-of-the-match Steve Eaton scored twice, along with further goals from Harvey Cowler and Neil Goldsworthy.

Holland’s next match is a tough one – away to reigning champions West Bergholt, on Saturday.

However, they will go into in confident mood, sitting fourth in the table and still unbeaten, with five wins from their six games.

WEELEY ATHLETIC are also going great guns.

They are fourth in division one after beating Alresford Colne Rangers Reserves 3-0.

Little Oakley Reserves are this weekend’s opponents, at Vista Road.
