YOUNGSTERS let off some half term steam at a fun-filled inflatable day.

Two sessions for children were hosted in Wix Village Hall, off Colchester Road, on Monday.

The main room was filled with bouncy castles and inflatables for over-threes, while an under-threes area featured a bouncy castle and a soft play area.

There were also a range of stalls, including cakes and refreshments, to keep people busy.

Organiser Chris Scutt, of Dovercourt Skating Rink, hoped to give youngsters a place to have fun away from the bitter cold.

He said: “I felt it was a lovely day.

“Everyone was really happy and kept really warm which was nice to see on such a cold day.

“I felt it was worth giving the kids something to do in the half term, a place to go to let of some steam.”

Mr Scutt added: “Rather than be out in the cold they can charge around indoors for a day.

“We had rooms full of inflatables for different age groups.

“We had stalls set up with sand arts and crafts, face painting and cakes on sale.

“Everyone seemed to be having fun.”
