A MAN was taken to hospital after falling 50ft from a tree.
The East of England Ambulance Service said it was called to Coach Road in Great Horkesley to treat a man in his 70s.
He had suffered a head injury and suspected broken ribs.
An ambulance crew attended in six minutes followed by a rapid response vehicle and the Essex Air Ambulance was also scrambled.
The man was taken by land ambulance to Colchester General Hospital for further care but his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
The incident happened around 11.20am on Wednesday.
