FOOTAGE has been released of highways workers carrying out the mammoth task of repairing a broken bridge over the A12.
The major road was shut overnight for three nights and all day on Sunday (April 23) while an enormous crane lifted away the damaged part of the Ewell Bridge at Kelvedon.
Timelapse footage shows the moment the bridge was lifted away, leaving a gap over the carriageway.
Pictures from Highways England also show the team working into the night to repair the broken bridge.
Drivers heading in both directions on the A12 had to be diverted through the back roads while work took place.
A spokesman for Highways England has said the next weekend closure for the A12 "is still several weeks off". We'll keep you updated when news comes in.
And Highways England were not the only ones to have captured the A12 works on camera - ex-helicopter pilot, Richard Harwood, from Marks Tey, sent us his incredible drone footage of the huge crane in action.
