AN inflatable fun day has raised hundreds of pounds for a primary school in need of a new climbing frame.

Bouncy castles, inflatable slides, and blow up gladiator jousts drew youngsters towards to the fundraising event.

Harwich and Manningtree Standard:

The event was held at Great Oakley Primary School and raised about £400 towards the school and its new climbing frame.

The event was held by Bounce Bounce and Dovercourt Skate Rink owner Chris Scutt, and took place at the school in The Avenue.

Jane Simmons, Great Oakley Primary School headteacher, said: “The event was well supported and alongside the inflatables day there was a garage sale held to also raise money for the school.”

She added: “The parents and staff worked really hard to made it a successful day and many children cooked a delicious variety of cakes that were on sale in the village hall.

“One of the reasons why I enjoy working at the school is the friendliness and generosity of the whole school community.

“One of our parents, Chris Scutt, owns a variety of bouncy castles and he set them up on the school field for everyone to enjoy.”

Chris Scutt, Dovercourt Skate Rink owner, said: "I am so pleased how well the event was received by everyone.
