MORE than £5,000 was raised for adults with learning difficulty thanks to a flower show.
The money was raised by volunteers from the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies for adults at Acorn Village care home, in Clacton Road, Mistley.
Coaches from as far as Cromer and Beccles visited the home over the two days to see the professional displays.
Kate Williams, commercial development and marketing co-ordinator, said: “A huge thank you to everyone who came and supported the day, the sponsors and especially to every volunteer who worked tirelessly to make the event such a success.”
She also thanked Little Pumpkins Pre-School, who made their own pots for the display.
Acorn Village Charity volunteers were also finalists in the Who Will Care Awards at Chelmsford.
Michelle Cook, Acorn’s chief executive, said their work over the 42 years of the charity was officially recognised as they took to the stage at Anglia Ruskin University.
She said: ‘We are so proud of all of the volunteers, it wouldn’t be the place it is today without them.”
