AN eclectic exhibition displaying paintings and prints from ten different artists is opening next week.

The North House Gallery is presenting an exhibition called Summer Light throughout the season with a range of diverse work from an array of artists.

The galley, based in The Walls, Manningtree, opens this exhibition on Saturday and it is running every Saturday up until August 26.

Artists displaying their unique work in Summer Light include Norman Ackroyd, who will be showcasing his etchings of the Barra Isles which were inspired by his visit there last summer.

Daisy Cook’s small summer trees paintings with warm yellow tones and Jason Hicklin’s etchings with bold uses of deep ink will be on display.

Melvyn King’s monotypes and oil on board paintings have been inspired by the light on the North Sea, near Harwich.

Sara Lee Roberts’ dramatic black and red abstract paintings are set to captivate the imagination.

The trees in Ffiona Lewis’ painting are created with bold marks, but the work is also focused on looking through the trees into the distance.

Sibylla Martin will be displaying her colourful abstract paintings and Julian Meredith will have his blue monoprints using feathers to represent migration.

Dina Southwell’s daring collages inspired by landscapes in Tuscany and Kenya will be shown alongside Gwenyth Fugard’s geometric landscapes.

Penny Hughes-Stanton, of North House Gallery, said: “Some artists such as Gwenyth Fugard are new and other artists have exhibited their work with me previously.

“All ten artists are very different with their own distinct styles of print and painting.”
