A PARADING peacock who became a feathered friend with villagers has gone missing.

Hailed as Lord Percy Peewee Herman Peacockington III of Lawford, the male peacock has been roaming the village for about nine months.

He even has his own Facebook page where more than 100 members post sightings, videos and pictures of Percy regularly.

However, the popular peacock was reported missing on Saturday, June 18 on his Facebook page by worried residents.

Caroline Hall, who is part of Lord Percy's Facebook page, said he was last seen with an injured left wing heading towards Valley Garden Supplies, in Wignall Street.

She said: "It seems really sad that when he shot to stardom he somehow vanished in to thin air.

"People have been posting their concerns on the Facebook page since he has gone missing.

"Even though Percy was very loud with his crowing, people are now missing the noises he made early in the morning.

"Everyone is just optimistically hoping he is hiding or he is OK."

She said that if Percy is found someone should contact the RSPCA who can take care of him and rehome him.

If Percy is seen contact the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999 quoting reference 83317/06/17.
