A BANGLADESHI banquet is being held to support a hospital's campaign to raise £4.5 million to complete a new cancer centre.

Minar Miah, owner of The Mogul, in Manningtree, is serving a three course meal for Colchester Hospital's employees as well as residents with all proceeds going to the cancer centre campaign.

The fundraising meal evening is being held at the restaurant, in South Street, on Tuesday, July 18.

They are holding the meal to support Colchester Hospital's vision to build an integrated caner centre combining first-class radiotherapy, chemotherapy and medical treatments, alongside a range of complementary therapies, information, support and advise for people affected by cancer.

Minar said: “We are very proud to support Colchester Hospitals Charity’s campaign.

"People affected by Cancer need and deserve first-class care in a relaxing and calm environment, we are hoping to raise a significant sum on the evening to donate towards building the new centre."

Dr MB Mukesh, consultant oncologist said; “The Cancer Centre Campaign is an exciting opportunity to create somewhere over and above the norm, better than average, a place that will exceed expectations.

"We want people to feel inspired by their surroundings, confident about the care they receive, calm and in control. "I strongly believe that the Cancer Centre will enhance treatments and optimise outcomes. “

Tickets are £25.00 for a three course meal which starts at 7pm for a 7.30pm sit down.
