A fundraising organisation has received a number of generous donations for its supported charities.

Bikers Respect all Veterans Equally (BRAVE) has been presented with £2,000 by various organisations and individuals.

The group of bikers and its supporters raise money for smaller veteran charities and provide support to individual veterans.

The group received £1,200 during the funeral of founder Chris Baker’s close friend, David Martin.

Mr Baker said: “David was a very close friend of mine and one of the original BRAVE riders.

“Last year he got pancreatic cancer, which took only a few months for him to pass away.

“In David’s style he pre-arranged all his affairs and funeral so his wife and kids didn't have to worry about it, part of that was to raise money at his funeral for the hospice he was at and for us at BRAVE.

“His wife Cyndi Martin and son David presented us with £1,200.

“His son also rode his dad’s one of a kind Honda Valkerie to show on the stand.”

During the Museum of Power’s American Car Show, on September 3, Neil Davis on behalf of Silver Knights Rider’s Club also presented the group with £200 from its raffle.

Gary Swainston, organiser of the American Car Show, chose BRAVE as his cause to donate to and, together with Museum of Power chairman Richard Waylen, presented the fundraising group with £600.
