Individuals and groups have been shortlisted for awards which celebrate inspirational people who help others live well.

Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) AGM will include the annual Marvels of Mid Awards, celebrating inspirational people who have gone above and beyond in helping others lead a healthy lifestyle.

Awards will be presented for eleven categories including Volunteer of the Year, Primary Care Award and the Patient Participation Group (PPG) of the Year.

Great Notley Junior Park Run has been shortlisted for the Start Well Award, Fern House PPG for the Patient Participation Group Award and Linda Hotson and Yvonne Laity, Friends of Braintree Hospital, for the Volunteer of the year Award.

Dr Caroline Dollery, who chairs the CCG, said: “Members of the public are very welcome to join us for our AGM and find out more about our work over the past year and plans for the future.

We are also really excited to be once again honouring local people - saying thanks for the great work that is being done to support our NHS and community health service.

“We have received a lot of incredibly strong and heart-warming nominations and the finalists for these awards come from all sectors of the community, demonstrating the commitment and enthusiasm local people have to helping others Live Well.”

The meeting will take place on September 28 at Chelmsford City Football Club, from 6.30pm.
