CCTV images are being released of four men after an armed gang was spotted in an Asda car park.

Officers would like to speak to the men in connection with an incident in the car park of Asda in Highfields Road, in Witham, on September 13.

Officers were called to the car park at around 4.40pm, with reports that a number of men had been seen behaving in a threatening manner against each other.

They were believed to have brandished weapons, including a sword and screwdrivers.

Chief Inspector Craig Carrington said: "There were five males who arrived in two vehicles.

"They made off in cars and the incident was attended by firearms officers who found one of the vehicles and recovered a sword from inside."

No members of the public were involved in the incident and no injuries were reported.
