MORE than 1,200 primary schoolchildren across Tendring are receiving vital advice and guidance on issues that affect their daily lives.
Revamped Crucial Crew events are being held once a week over eight weeks at Bishops Park College in Jaywick Lane, Clacton.
The youngsters take part in three sessions concentrating on gangs; healthy relationships and internet safety and grooming.
Three events have been held and five more will be taking place over the coming weeks.
They have been organised by Tendring Community Safety Partnership and tackle identified priorities.
Lynda McWilliams, chairman of the partnership, said: “Crucial Crew has been running in Tendring for many years and the subjects tackled have hardly changed over that time.
“However, we have tried to freshen things up this year and look at issues that are very relevant and up to date for children today as well as priorities for the partnership.
“All primary schools in Tendring have been invited to take part and most are doing so.”
Reach Every Generation is taking the sessions on gangs, Women’s Aid is leading on healthy relationships and Teen Talk is dealing with internet safety and grooming.
