A TEENAGER was attacked by a gang of youths who punched him in the face and hit him in the back of the head with a plastic bottle.

The 16-year-old victim was approached by a gang of five boys and girls when one of them punched him in the face and caused some reddening to his skin.

Another person was then reported to have hit the victim to the back of the head with a plastic bottle.

The attack happened at about 5.40pm on Wednesday, November 15 at the level crossing of Ferndale Road, in Harwich, at the junction with Maria Street.

The group then ran off in the general direction of Bathside.

The victim was has been given medical treatment and suffered from some dizziness and headaches.

Each member of the group was described as white, and believed to be between 14 and 16 years old.

One boy, was described as white, wore a grey and black tracksuit, and Nike trainers. He also wore a baseball cap and hood.
