A CARE home has celebrated its 75th anniversary with residents and the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Essex.
Alexandra House, in Lower Marine Parade, Dovercourt, had scrapbooks on show for residents to look through old memories dating back to 1961.
Nigel Spencer, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant, was a special guest for the event on Friday as he is the nephew of resident
Cyril Vinnicombe.
Nigel said: "75 years of service is a real achievement and all of you here are part of that history of being served to and giving service to each other.
"A massive thank you to the staff of Alexandra House Care Home, to Hayley, Kane, Kerry, Donna, Paul and all who work here you are legends."
"Here's to the next 25 years and our hopes that Alexandra House Care Home will duly celebrate 100 years of service to the elderly of our community here in Harwich and Dovercourt."
