HUNDREDS of residents were drawn to a church filled with flowers as part of a springtime festival.

The Art of Flowers, is a flower festival which was held in St Lawrence Church, in Bradfield, over the bank holiday weekend.

For the three-day festival, there were a range of stunning flower arrangements on display created by residents.

There was also local artwork exhibited in the church.

Norma Barrow, chairman of the Friends of St Lawrence Church, said: “The glorious weekend weather was the backdrop to a flower festival held in Bradfield church.

“The Art of Flowers was organised by the Friends of St Lawrence Church Bradfield.

“The display of paintings by local artists became the inspiration for the flower arrangers led by Barbara Coe, Margaret Garner, Katie Huffey, and Sheila Large.

“The three-day event was attended by over 300 people and there were many complimentary remarks.

“The profit of £2,126 will be used for essential repairs to the church tower. “
