TICKETS are on sale for an annual summertime festival based in the heart of Harwich.

Preparations for this year’s Harwich Festival are in full swing with a programme of exciting acts and artists already complete.

Over the next two months there will be an eclectic mix of classical, jazz, and folk music performances as well as spoken performances and strong visual arts projects.

Some of the highlight acts for this years festival include jazz and world music band Dinosaur and folk music duo Edgelarks, who are the former winners of the BBC Folk Duo of the Year.

Other top talent in the line-up includes Emma Abbate, who will be keeping audiences in ore with three piano performances, and Saxology - a saxophone quartet with singers.

This year’s festival will also see the return of the 20cm x 20cm open exhibition and Harwich shorts film festival.

There will also be a mosaic boat on show which will be decorated with broken ceramics to turn the vessel into a mosaic icon in Harwich.

The work will be created by mosaic artist Anne Schwegmann-Fielding.

Michael Offord general manager for the Harwich Festival said: “This year the emphasis is on fun and I think that is reflected in the programme, with feedback being extremely positive so far.”

Tickets are available on harwichfestival.co.uk or from the Harwich box Office at Harwich Library in Kingsway.
