PLENTY of pooches will be on their best behaviour to try and impress judges at a dog show over the weekend.

Acorn Village, a charity for adults with learning disabilities in Mistley, is once again holding the annual event tomorrow. (JULY 7)

Now in its sixth year, the show is set to have more variety than ever before with a huge range of competition classes, as well as other types of entertainment throughout the day.

The panel of vets who judge the show are from Highcliff Veterinary Practice, in Factory Lane, Manningtree.

There will also be dog training, the Debbie Millar School of Dance performing and live entertainment from Harwich Sing as well as stalls and refreshments.

An Acorn Village spokesman said: "The wonderful Dog and Duck display have just confirmed they will be returning again this year.

"They are one of the highlights and we are so pleased to have them.

"The wonderful steam engine has been confirmed they will be attending for the first time ever."

In previous years the show has raised £3,400 and organisers are hoping a similar figure can be raised at the weekend.

All profits from the show go back into Acorn Village.

The event is being held at the charity in Clacton Road, Mistley, between 10am and 3pm.
