BARGAIN hunters can look forward to the opening of an antiques, vintage and retro warehouse in Manningtree.

The Manningtree Emporium will be opening its doors to the public in Jubilee End on Saturday, August 4.

The emporium will be selling vintage furniture and furnishings for homes and businesses displayed in an open plan warehouse.

It will be home to more than 20 antiques and vintage dealers selling an eclectic array of treasured items from collectables to lighting.

Ken Hewitt, owner of the new business, has many years experience running antiques centres and shops in Essex.

He said he has been looking for new premises for a while and this was the ideal location.

He added: "We are minutes from the town centre with plenty of free parking and just a ten minute walk from the railway station.

"Having sold at the Manningtree vintage market since it started last year, I know the people of Manningtree, Colchester, Ipswich and the surrounding areas love browsing and buying antiques and vintage items.

"The response from antiques and vintage traders in the area has been truly amazing.

"We are almost full after just two weeks of promoting the new business."

It will be open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm and on Bank Holiday Mondays from 10am to 4pm.
