A MAN who was found with crack cocaine in Braintree has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison for drug offences.

Sherif Isiaka was sentenced to seven months for possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply after he was stopped by police with 101 wraps in Braintree in March.

PC Andy Crow and PCSO Terrie Johnson were looking for a missing person on when they came across a Ford Focus in Bocking End that had links to the supply of drugs.

They found the wraps inside the car and arrested Isiaka who also had £340 in cash on him.

Isiaka, of Amhurst Road, Hackney, was charged with possession of class A drugs with intent to supply and admitted the offence at Chelmsford Crown Court on April 23.

He was also under investigation by the Met Police for drugs offence and was charged by the Met colleagues with conspiracy to supply heroin and conspiracy to supply cocaine.

The 19-year-old was given six years and 11 months for his role in the Hackney-based drug network which saw drugs sold in Cambridgeshire.

He helped organise fresh supplies of heroin to be delivered to the address in Huntingdon.

PC Crow said: “Isiaka’s sentence is the result of a thorough investigation and working with the Metropolitan Police to secure a conviction.

“I believe it sends a clear message that if you come to our district to sell drugs you stand to lose your freedom for a significant number of years.

“We take the threat of county lines drug dealers seriously and work hard to convict all offenders caught.

“But we also need information from the public to help us identify and catch these people, so I urge anyone with concerns about drug dealing in their neighbourhood to please tell us.”

In total, Isiaka was sentenced to seven years and five Wood Green Crown Court in London on Friday.
