A PAGEANT of Mystery Plays is to be performed in Mistley.

The performances comprise of a series of scenes dramatising episodes from both old and new testaments of the Bible.

These originate from the Middle Ages when they were performed by members of the various trade guilds.

In this production, at St Mary’s and St. Michael’s Church in New Road, those involved have been recruited from the surrounding community.

The performances take place on Friday July 3 at 7.30pm and Saturday July 4 at 7.45pm.

Tickets cost £8 each (concessions £7).

The cast is still in need of more children to take part, preferably aged between 7 and 12, to take part as animals in Noah's Ark and in crowd scenes.
