Harwich: Trip to return beer festival favour

BEER lovers travelled across the North Sea to pay a return visit to Danish beer enthusiasts.

Members of the Harwich branch of the Campaign for Real Ale made the trip after a number of people from Denmark came to last December’s beer festival in the town.

The party were greated to the Esbjerg Beer Festival by Laurent Mousson, vice chair of the European Beer Consumers Union, and Leif Buster Hansen who led the Danish contingent to Harwich last year.

Richard Oxborrow, organiser of the Harwich Beer Festival and who went on the trip, said: “It was a fantastic visit and great to meet up with our Danish friends who visited the Harwich Beer Festival last year.

“We have extended an invitation for them to come again this year and hope to see them in Harwich in December.”

This year’s three day Harwich Beer Festival is set to take place from December 3 in the Kingsway Hall in Dovercourt.
