AN empty seafront building has been brought back to life as a gallery for local artists.

The old deckchair station on Lower Marine Parade East, Clacton, has been taken over by Clacton Art Circle as a trial through the summer season.

It will be used to display a range of work and adds another attraction to the seafront for visitors and residents.

The kiosk will be open from Thursday to Sunday during April and May, then six days a week through the summer, only closing on Wednesdays.

Stefanie Hayes from the Clacton Art Circle said: “This is a great opportunity for our members to showcase their talents to a wide audience and we are pleased that we were able to come to an arrangement with the council for this prominent site.”

Paintings at the kiosk are both on exhibition and for sale.
