A MUSICAL movement group has celebrated a year of helping talented toddlers develop their skills.

Trish Ansell and Kelly Barnes started their Music Movers pre-school classes last year and have seen them go from strength to strength.

They run special sessions for under-fives across Tendring, using instruments, singing and rhythm to help them develop.

Trish said: “When we started out, we were just on our own and we made progress just through sheer determination to give children in the area something special.

“It is all about interacting with the youngsters and improving their motor skills and language skills by using music and movement.

“We have a craft corner and we use percussion instruments, along with vibrant pop songs and quirky visuals with them.

“We build up their confidence and get their imaginations going. The children absolutely love it.”

Music Movers has progressed from small taster sessions at fetes and carnivals to running regular well-attended classes and working with schools.

It has now celebrated its first birthday.

Trish added: “Being able to celebrate this milestone with the children and parents has been fantastic.

“We both feel blessed to have reached so many children and parents with what we love to do.”
