BOOK shop owners in Frinton have secured a visit from a top author who has made national news.

Author Henry Hemmingway recently released a new book called Churchill’s Iceman.

It charts the unknown and murky side of Geoffrey Pyke – a mysterious genius.

An inventor, escapee, campaigner and war correspondent, Pyke earned a fortune on the stock market and is seen as the father of the US Special Forces.

He also penned a bestseller and convinced Winston Churchill to build an aircraft carrier out of ice in 1942.

Pyke is revealed in Henry Hemmingway’s new book, which has garnered national attention since its release.

And he will introduce his new book in a special presentation at Frinton’s Caxton Books on Sunday.

Shop co-owner Judith Charlesworth said: “His book has had a lot of exposure and we are lucky to have him.

“We would never normally get someone of this calibre but he has a Frinton family connection. It is very exciting.”

Hemmingway will be at the Connaught Avenue shop from 11am-1pm.
