AN overjoyed husband has spoken of his relief after being told his dementia-stricken wife will not be moved more than 70 miles from home.
Roger Lewsey, of Walton, was first told his wife Doreen would have to move to a specialist care home in Waltham Abbey due to a bed shortage in nearby homes.
Shell-shocked Roger feared his wife of 50 years would forget him if he could not visit every day.
But they are now celebrating after a bed was found for Doreen in Weeley at the 11th hour.
