PHONES 4u stores across north Essex could be taken over by EE or Vodafone.
The network operators have announced they will buy some of the chain’s branches, after the company went into administration last week.
EE is to buy 58 stores and Vodafone will take 140, saving hundreds of jobs.
There are two Phones 4u outlets in Clacton.
Neither company has announced which shops it will take over, but they have said existing staff will be kept on.
