MORE than 150 jobs are up for grabs at a bumper careers fair in Clacton.

The second annual Tendring Jobs and Careers Fair is being held at the Princes Theatre today.

The event has been organised by Clacton’s Jobcentre Plus and Tendring Council’s regeneration team and is being supported by the county council and Clacton Gazette.

There are almost 70 stands at the event, which runs from 10.30am to 6pm.

Nearly 80 per cent are local employers from areas including the public sector, care, hospitality, retail, manufacturing, construction and logistics.

The show is already nearly three times the size of the first event last year.

There will be about 150 jobs available on the day with another 100 advertised via an onsite jobs vacancy board, as well as 50 volunteering opportunities.

Tendring Council leader Mick Page said: “The overwhelming response we have had from employers this year has shown there is a real need to support businesses to recruit locally and we will do all we can to make this happen.

“We are committed to supporting businesses in Tendring to help them grow and our innovative partnership with Jobcentre Plus is helping us to make this a reality and prove that Tendring really is open for business.”
