FIREFIGHTERS have been called out to tackle a blaze at a temporary kitchen building in Walton.

Three crews shocked shoppers as they roared through Walton High Street at about 1.30pm on Monday on their way to the fire in Foundry Yard.

It is thought the fire may have been started to burn rubbish in a skip at the site, before spreading to set a temporary cabin building alight.

The 20x30metre building was engulfed by flames and sent smoke billowing across Foundry Yard, which houses several businesses.

The fire was extinguished by about 3.30pm.

It is not clear how much damage was caused by the blaze but fire chiefs say it affected several small out buildings at the site.
