BLUEPRINTS for a new supermarket in Kirby Cross have been unveiled.

Developers want to build a 9,000 sq ft store at the end of Claire Road.

A planning application for outline permission has already been submitted to Tendring Council.

No retail chain has signed on to move into the store if it gets the green light, but the site owners said budget chains Aldi and Lidl had been approached and were interested.

The proposals are for a supermarket and a 42-space car park.

Twenty jobs would be created – ten full-time and ten part-time.

Details in an outline planning application can change before a decision is made, but the owners want the go-ahead to open between 7.30am and 10pm from Monday to Saturday, and from 9am to 8pm on Sundays.

The application will be discussed by Frinton and Walton Town Council on Thursday. Tendring Council will make the final decision in the coming weeks.
