THE longest-running estate agent business in Frinton is celebrating 30 years in the town.

Family firm Rouse Estates was launched in 1985 by Paul Rouse and his mother Joyce, and grew quickly.

Paul grew up in Frinton and went to Frinton Primary and Gunfleet Secondary Schools, before starting a career in banking.

He soon moved on to estate agency and worked in Colchester, before heading back to his home town to establish his own business.

Within six months, Paul’s father, Ralph, joined the business after rapid growth.

He left Frinton and Walton Urban District Council after 47 years, including 25 years as deputy town clerk.

Ralph is approaching his 90th birthday, but still spends most of his days in the Connaught Avenue office.

As the business grew, Paul’s younger brother Simon and lifelong friend Michael Drewry also joined the firm.

Over the years, the premises have been expanded three times and Rouse Estates now employs 13 people.

Paul said: “I’m proud that we have developed into the longest established estate agent in the area and we have always gone the extra mile for people.

“Rouse Estates is not just a business, it’s a family.”
