A NURSE has been suspended after she dragged a patient by her legs at a care home.

Mabel Ozimora was working at Oaktree Manor, in Heath Road, Tendring, when a patient became violent towards staff.

A Nursing and Midwifery hearing was told three of her colleagues tried to restrain the woman – referred to as Patient A – but she broke free.

Ozimora then stepped in, grabbing the patient by her legs and dragging her back into her room.

Staff who witnessed the incident said they were shocked.

Ozimora admitted six charges at the hearing, including dragging the patient by her legs.

However, she denied being dishonest by deliberately concealing her actions.

The panel found her guilty of the charge.

Speaking to the panel, Ozimora said she was “extremely sorry” and she had denied the charges because she feared losing her job.

Ozimora was suspended for three months at the hearing after those sitting on the panel found she had breached the code of conduct.
