PLANS have been approved for almost 20 “glamping” pods at a campsite in Thorpe.
Grange Farm, in Station Road, has been given the green light for up to 19 of the “glamorous camping” pods as well as 12 touring caravans.
The Coombs family has also been given permission for change of use of agricultural land to tourism, as well as the continued use of the land for tents.
The farm currently has permission for five touring caravans and tents, and has been part of the Caravan and Camping Club since 1990.
The proposed increase in the number of caravans and the introduction of glamping pods is designed to increase business.
The plans were approved by Tendring Council officers.
