YOUNG ornithologists have helped with the restoration of a popular spinney by putting up bird boxes.
Children from Little Clacton Pre-school put up the nest boxes at the village’s Millennium Green.
Millennium Green committee chairman Mavis Balbirnie said: “The children enjoyed being involved and it is hoped that they will regularly visit the Millennium Green to enjoy the wildlife and see if the boxes are being taken up by the different species of birds that are regulars to the area."
A number of projects are being planned to restore the Millennium Green to its original glory, including renewing old fencing and replacing bushes in a bid to attract more visitors.
The bird boxes were donated by local businesses.
