PLANS to create a small business park in Weeley have been given the green light.
Outline proposals for land at Homestead Lake Country Park, in Thorpe Road, includes a commercial development with parking and landscaping.
Weeley Parish Council opposed the proposal and there were nine letters of objection.
Residents in Thorpe Road said the development was not wanted or needed.
The agent for the dedvelopment said it would bring jobs into the area and there were already several companies interested in taking up space.
Tendring Council’s planning committee approved the scheme, which can be for office and light industrial use only.
A spokesman said: “It was felt that the redevelopment would not adversely affect the running of the holiday park and was not an intrusion into the countryside.”
