A PROMINENT seafront house in Frinton looks set to be converted into three smaller homes.

The application has been launched to divide the interior into three different properties, while creating a new double garage to provide parking for each occupant.

A new access would also be created in Second Avenue.

Frinton and Walton town councillors supported the plan and recommended approval.

Previous applications have been to demolish the current building and create something new in its place.

Councillor Mark Brown said: “It is unrealistic for a lot of families these days to be able to afford to live in a house of its current size.

“I think it’s a good development and meets the brief of what this council wants to see.”

Robert Bucke added: “This would see the original house remain and I think it has characteristics and features worth preserving.”

Tendring Council will have the final say on the application.
