TWO almshouses will be demolished to make way for a new two-storey house in Clacton.

The bungalows in Coppins Road are operated by the John Gilders and Maskells Almshouses Charity.

A planning application has been approved to make the change to the site, which the council decided would better reflect the character of the area.

The property will be set further forward in the site to create a bigger back garden.

The scheme will also provide two off-street parking spaces at the front of the new house.
