A BID to demolish glasshouses and create four new homes has been rejected.
The scheme was launched to redevelop the site in Batemans Lane, Little Clacton, but has now been rejected by planners.
The land lies outside the settlement boundary in a rural area with a scattering of other homes.
It was decided a development would not be sustainable because of a lack of facilities and amenities nearby.
Little Clacton Parish Council opposed the scheme due to the cramped appearance of the planned homes, saying they would be out of keeping with the area.
Two letters of objection were also sent to the district council and the application has now been refused.
