A TOWERING 30ft Christmas tree will arrive in Clacton town centre next week.

The £860 tree has been donated by Clacton Factory Outlet and will light up the town square over the festive season.

It will arrive by lorry next week and be hoisted into place by a tele handler truck.

A cherry picker will be used to decorate it with 4,000 LED lights and 400 baubles.

Tendring Council cabinet spokesman Nick Turner said: “We are very grateful for the donation as the town square is a focal point for all the seasonal festivities in Clacton.

“We have ordered the tree from our normal suppliers and I am sure that everybody will be delighted with it.”
