A DAD says he is “bitterly disappointed” after his family was forced to leave their home with no help in finding a suitable alternative.
Perry and Emma Hey were told they had to leave their Thorpe Road home in Great Clacton, along with their seven children, after being given an eviction notice by their landlord.
But they have been unable to find a suitable new home due to the size of their family.
They have not been able to rent privately as they do not have a guarantor, and Tendring Council could only offer them hostel accommodation in Ipswich.
They were forced to leave their home on Monday morning.
Perry said: “We have moved into a caravan because it’s the only place we could find with room for us all, but it is costing us a fortune.
“We don’t feel like we have had any help. The eviction itself was awful – the whole thing has been a nightmare.
“We’re still together and in the area for our children to get to school, and we’ve just got to keep looking for somewhere else. But we’re bitterly disappointed no one has helped.”
Tendring Council says it did everything it could to house the family but they turned down the only available option.
